Graceful Encounters

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened(Matthew 7:7-8). A verse that is often misinterpreted by many. Worldly people often think of God as someone who can ease their problems, grant their desires and make life easier in general, but the Word says otherwise. The Word says: I will be by your side until the end. Why do we judge people according to their outward appearance the same way we look at trials and tribulations? Why not gaze at God's plan for us in the long run? Being complacent through our achievements could only hasten our demise to which some people unknowingly desire because our worldly mind permits it.  We only see the the bad things we face because we chose to see the surface without looking at the bigger picture. Because it was ordained by God, it is good. In the long run, our problems are not to harm the elect but to fortify us, to fortify our faith with the strength of the Lord.

Praying to the Lord, I tend to ask daily that someday, I would encounter Christ-minded people in person and to my surprise it was granted by the Lord. After finishing my errands, I encountered a lone preacher spreading the good news. How the Lord is so good, even the least of my prayers was granted. Ecstatic, I approached him commending the Lord that he has worked through him. He responded with "shalom" which I think means peace in Hebrew. I then asked his name, to which he responded "Samuel".  Surprisingly, he was a Filipino too! We immediately had a connection. After having a little conversation, I checked my phone. To my shock I only had 3% of battery left. I then hastily asked his number with my hopes of spreading the good news, being a torch for the Lord in the future.

After unloading my groceries, I searched for brother Samuel but to my dismay, his number was not saved. I could only think of one conclusion, another attack from the kingdom of darkness. If only I prepared in advance this would not happen. I aggressively rushed towards the nearest bus stop, after a short walk to his spot. He was no where to be found. I then went back home, powdered into tears.

The Spot.

Our Lord is our refuge. I like to think that Samuel was an angel sent by the Lord yet I could only assume. Everything will be revealed in the right place and at the right time. Learning that we should constantly seek God's face. The message sent by the elect could only be a catalyst ordained by our good Lord. But only the true followers of Christ know the meaning and the true purpose of life; to give our life to the Lord.

Concluding today's experience, all we need to do is to ask what God's daily will is for his children and to give us strength, to fulfill his will not out of obligation but out of love. He loved us first before we existed.
(1 John 4:19)
